School District Five of Lexington and Richland Counties offers a selection of courses prepared especially for you, the adult citizen. Whether you need courses for high school diploma, high school equivalency (GED), WorkKeys test preparation, to learn a new skill or to self improve, or ESL, you will find something to fill those needs.
2009-2010
Site Location: Irmo High Technology Building at 6745 St. Andrews Rd.
Classes offered: Literacy, PreGED, Fast Track GED, ESL, Diploma, WorkKeys, Para Pro, and ASVAB Prep
Cost: Diploma - $50 per course All other classes - $40
Orientation:Prior to attending classes, all students, except for ESL clients must attend an orientation. Orientations are offered every other week. Call the number below for scheduled dates and times.
ALL 17 year olds must obtain a permission to enter letter from Michael Harris at the Department of Student Services at the district office before they will be allowed to attend orientation. All students 17-24 must bring an official transcript and a copy of their HSAP/Exit Exam scores. All students 17-21 must bring a GED withdrawal form from the last high school attended.
Class Sessions:
Literacy, PreGED, GED, WorkKeys, Para Pro, and ASVAB preparation:
8:30 – 11:30 a.m. Monday & Wednesday mornings
5:30 p.m.– 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursday evenings
Diploma classes: 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays
LAB for Diploma and GED students: 8:30 – 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays
ESL Classes:
A.M. Classes: Mondays & Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. – noon (Portable B)
P.M. Classes: Tuesdays & Thursdays from 5:30 p.m. – 8 p.m.
** Students wishing to enroll in ESL classes should arrive 30 minutes prior to class.
