Meet the Principal

Dear River Springs Families,

Welcome to the 2009-2010 school year at River Springs Elementary School! River Springs is a community school where children and learning are celebrated each and every day. At RSES, the faculty and staff are all committed to our vision of Working Together to Build the Future. When you walk through the halls of this outstanding school, you will see readers, scientists, mathematicians, historians and artists in the making. By engaging each child in authentic learning experiences, our students will become productive citizens and confident life-long learners.

Throughout the school year, we will make a special effort to communicate with you about your child's academic progress and the events happening around the school. Please make sure to read our weekly school newsletter and visit the website for your child's classroom. You will find valuable information that will help you to stay involved in your child's life at school. With parents and teachers working together, we can support our students as they grow and learn each day.

As you look for new ways to become involved in your child's education, please consider getting involved with our Parent Teacher Organization. Our PTO works diligently to donate their time, talents and resources to enhance the educational experience for each child. Our school is thankful for the talents of so many parents who care so much for this school. I know you will be rewarded by being a part of such a wonderful organization.

I am looking forward to meeting you and your family as we begin this new school year.  By working together, I am certain that we will make this school year the best one yet!

Sincerely,

Melanie Cohen
Principal
